A Backyard Wedding in the Catskills
I’m excited to share with you the beautiful backyard wedding of Raimy and Danielle that I had the pleasure of coordinating and designing. This couple has roots in New York City but currently resides in Los Angeles, where they are both busy professionals in the marketing and production industries. Danielle is a Director who works on large video production shoots for clients such as Hilton, Target, and Bumble, while Raimy is busy running an advertising agency. With such busy lives, they knew they needed a local wedding planner who could take charge and make decisions for them.
When we first met, Raimy and Danielle described the vibe they wanted for their wedding as cozy and campy, with a focus on farm-to-table dining. They envisioned a Big Sur and Navaho blend, with antique pieces from Danielle’s mother’s Catskills bungalow incorporated into the design. The result was a beautiful, tented backyard wedding that perfectly captured their vision.
One of the most exciting design details of this wedding was the use of antique pieces collected by Danielle’s mother. These pieces added a personal touch and a sense of family history to the celebration. The tables were adorned with beautiful vintage candlesticks and local florals. We also had an amazing glamping tent that provided lounge areas featuring cozy vintage furniture.
The color palette was warm and earthy, with bold colors on the handmade Huppah, and deep greens. The florals were designed to be natural and wild, with lots of greenery and pops of color. We used a mix of wooden and woven textures to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
The dinner was a highlight of the evening, with a delicious farm-to-table menu that featured local produce and meats. We wanted to highlight Danielle’s Israeli roots, so the menu consisted of a lots of Israeli fare like Labne, Torshi Mesh Akel ( Pickled Veggies), Zaatar roasted Carrots, Olives, White Bean & Feta Dip, and so much more. Guests sat down to a beautiful, family-style meal that was both elegant and relaxed. The campy vibe continued into the evening, with s’mores around the fire pit and dancing under the stars. Of course, we had the Hora but a really special moment was when Danielle’s mother got on the dancefloor and sang a song to her daughter in Yiddish.
Overall, Raimy and Danielle’s wedding was a beautiful and intimate celebration that perfectly reflected their love for each other and their vision for their special day they envision in the Catskill Mountains. It was an honor to be a part of such a wonderful event, and I wish them all the happiness in the world. Thank you for letting me share this special day with you, Raimy and Danielle!
